Kaspersky Antivirus Review

Kaspersky’s antivirus program is a good choice for malware detection rates. The additional security features, including parental controls, file shredding and backups, as well as a VPN and secure browser, are also an excellent addition. However, the software’s UI has an apprehension curve and it isn’t published here easy to get around, especially when you first install it. The interface, however, becomes user-friendly after a quick initial setup procedure and there are plenty of customization options that allow you to tailor Kaspersky to your preferences. Plus the Timeline and Notification Center located at the bottom of “Home” allows you to manage important functions without having to leave the main screen.

The reputation of the company was tarnished when it was accused of cooperating with the Russian government in 2017 and some governments banned its software. While that accusation wasn’t proven, the company has worked to regain its image and has launched its Global Transparency initiative so users can learn more about its source code and threat detection rules and data collection practices.

All Kaspersky subscriptions offer real-time protection on Windows, Mac and Android devices. Certain plans include a dedicated iOS antivirus app that offers automatic scanning and scans on demand for settings, apps, and photos. Some of the premium plans, like Total Security and Internet Security come with additional features like an app locker that can store and display your personal apps and parental controls.
